The 79th General Convention of The Episcopal Church will be held in July 2018 at The Austin Convention Center, Austin, Texas (Diocese of Texas).
Today, the United Thank Offering and the Episcopal Church’s Executive Council officially agreed on a memorandum of understanding between the two groups. Executive Council also approved a new set of bylaws for UTO, which has supported the church’s mission and ministry for 125 years.
The Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori will receive an honorary degree at the University of Oxford in June. The Archbishop of Canterbury immediately welcomed the news as “a powerful model for women seeking to pursue their vocations in the church.”
