The message of the religious right has receded, discredited by a new liberal spirit. And this should present an opening for liberal religion to gain ground among young Americans.
Wednesday, 22 JUL 2015, was a day of historic firsts. The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd Justin Welby consecrated the first women to be made bishops from the Church of England’s historic heart, Canterbury Cathedral. He also consecrated the Church of England’s first female diocesan bishop.
The Roman diocese in Limburg Germany now has a recently renovated diocesan center which includes a bishop’s residence that secretly cost twice what it was publicly stated to cost. The renovation cost about $11 million. Renovations to the bishop’s residence, the diocesan center and the diocesan seminary in total cost about $34 million.
The disciples had no idea where the simple words “Come follow me” could lead them but they followed anyway. The Jesus way was a life changing internal and spiritual journey that would take a lifetime.
