Armed militant groups occupy federal land, attend a local church service

In Burns, Oregon, a self-styled militia has used weapons and threats of violence to occupy federal land which was originally set aside for the Northern Paiute tribe but later turned into the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. At least one member of the group has visited a local Episcopal/Lutheran church, sparking fear and worries.

How do we define “thriving”?

The Faith Communities Today 2015 survey finds that small churches are in danger of failing, working with low numbers of attendees and limited resources, but some remain stable and vibrant despite having scarce resources. This includes many Episcopal churches, which often have weekend attendance below 100 members.
