The Christ Church Episcopal Parish in Lake Oswego gathers to dismantle the AR-15

Back in AUG we reported on the girl’s softball team in the Willamette OR area that was raffling off a donated AR – rifle. Father Jeremy Lucas won the raffle and the AR – 15, which he intended to have formed into an art object. His plans for the rifle changed over the last few months and he gathered with his flock in the parish parking lot under a few tents to have his “sword beaten into a plowshare.”

English town of Calne steals Nativity record from Utah

WARNING – Advent purists, Christmas Carol ahead! On the evening of 3 DEC 2016, 1254 town folk, dressed as shepherds, wise men and angels gathered on a local green to assemble the largest living Nativity. By doing so the town stole the title from the previous record set by folks in Utah.

Speaking to the Soul: Waiting for God

So, since it’s about halfway through Advent, I think it’s time for me to be less busy and a little bit more patient; to ponder a bit more and struggle a lot less, to look for God in unexpected times and places instead of either shooting up arrow prayers expecting God to take care of them and then rushing off to do something else.
