Folks in the US were shocked when Donald Trump was elected. His supporters were jubilant and exhilarated that he had actually won. Hillary Clinton’s supporters were dumbfounded and devastated that she had lost. The results were not what had been predicted. News analysts were perplexed at how wrong they were.
The Diocese of Vermont Diocesan Center has a new orchard in the backyard. If you look out one of the back windows you overlook the 35 tracker- arrays of the Rock Point Solar Farm (sometimes they refer to it as a solar orchard.) The Diocese of Vermont has a beautiful, large piece of property purchased in 1855 at Rock Point in Burlington VT.
A large number of pilgrims on the Way of St James are Anglicans. However, when they complete the pilgrimage at the Cathedral, along with the other non-Catholic pilgrims, they become just spectators. They aren’t allowed to participate in the Cathedral services or to receive communion. The Spanish Reformed Episcopal Church would like to change that.
This Epiphany, let’s practice looking up, looking for a star, and not just hanging our heads and hiding our eyes from what’s in front of us for fear of what’s going to happen in the next step or two that we take. Follow the star, keep the faith, and plunge ahead.
