Death row inmate may get a new trial: a potential juror was dismissed because she was a Christian

More than 500 leaders of various faiths are petitioning for Christopher Young to be given a new trial. The leaders are from Protestant, Catholic, Jewish and Islamic faiths. They are requesting a new trial on one specific reason, that a potential juror was eliminated from the jury for Young’s trial because of her association with a Baptist Church which had a prison ministry.

Food for thought: folks in the US have a double standard regarding religious violence

I’ve heard it, and you probably have as well, Islam is a violent religion. Folks who claim to be Muslim, who commit violence in the name of Islam are really Muslims. And when I have responded with the idea that it is the same regarding Christians and Christianity, I encounter opposition, folks who claim to be Christian, who commit violence in the name of Christianity, aren’t really Christians.
