A Polish Catholic congregation which has been functioning independently since breaking with the St Louis Archdiocese in 2005 is mulling a new relationship with the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri.
The bishops declined to take a side on the political and legal issues that have prompted protest, instead urging “people from both sides … to respect the other party, listen, communicate, and build mutual trust,” remembering that “benevolent thoughts come from God while wicked intentions originate in the ‘evil one,’ Satan.”
“I think that’s a cue we can take from children – the cue to invite others to join us. To come and see. It’s always a joy to see friends invite friends and to share their enthusiasm. God’s story of love and grace for us and the world is one to be told.”
