Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) announced August 11 that it has achieved a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for sound fiscal management according to a report in Episcopal Life Online.
This is the highest possible rating, given to only a quarter of the charities evaluated by the group, the national leader in charity evaluation. This ‘exceptional’ designation indicates that ERD executes its mission in a financially responsible way.
“Episcopal Relief & Development is committed to maintaining the highest standards of accountability so we are extremely pleased to be recognized by Charity Navigator for excelling at this,” says Robert W. Radtke, president of ERD. “By effectively administering the financial support of our donors we can truly heal a hurting world.”
The recognition from Charity Navigator coincides with ERD’s launch of their 2007 Annual Summary, highlighting the efforts of the agency to reach close to 2.5 million people in more than 41 countries around the world this past year. ERD’s profile on Charity Navigator is available here. A copy of the 2007 Annual Summary can be downloaded from Episcopal Relief & Development’s website.
ERD also meets all 20 standards for the Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) Charity Accountability.
