It’s been quiet on Facebook this week. So quiet, in fact, that I wonder if the Cafe is still showing up in your feeds what with their new design. I’ll investigate and get back to you next week with information to improve your ability to interact with the Cafe on Facebook.
But a couple of stories did catch your attention. She couldn’t have aimed any lower?, which examined Lindsay Lohan’s “rocking the Jesus look,” got some fiery commentary on the FB page, including someone wondering why we were even covering her at all. Others replied with “bless her heart,” and “forgive her, for she knows now what she does,” and as Kay Depson Davidson-Bond said, “This falls under the First Amendment as it applies to art. Freedom of artistic expression is an absolute except when the community consensus rules can override it. I loved Alana Morrisett (is that right) in her role as God. It tickled me and thought if God saw it, She might find it amusing. Get over your offense. God does not need your protection.” Seems to come round every few years–for some reason, Sinead O’Connor is springing to mind…
