Sunday Social Hour

This week for Social Hour, we’re wondering what you’re wishing for, and you’d like to see more of (or less of) in the coming year. And from Facebook, we got…

Jeanne deWard: Peace on earth, especially between Israel and her neighbors. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

Bill Lambert: For Rowan to start making sense…

Cindi Mashburn: Stop the polarizing and posturing. Listen. Cooperate.

Jan Drake: For people to love their own family members more.

Michel Salim: Inspired by a Bet Alef commenter, I’m going for one-word wishes/resolutions. “Reconciliation” covers most of our wishes 🙂 That being said, it is a hard thing to do.

How about you?

Also, De- Brown shared with us the following prayer, and it’s lovely:

TAKE ME INTO A NEW YEAR, Gracious God. Help me to continue looking for meaning, seeking peace, praying for light, dancing for joy, working for justice, and singing your praise. I go into the new year filled with expectations, a touch of worry, and a bundle of hope. I do not journey into the new year alone but with you as my guide, with a commitment to my disciplines, with a community of family, friends, and faith. Take me into the new year, Creator of beauty and wonder. Bless me with the companionship of Jesus, and gift me with the guidance and power of the Spirit. Amen.

– Larry James Peacock

Openings: A Daybook of Saints, Psalms, and Prayer

And while we’ve already extended our New Year greetings to you, it bears noting that when we announced our web traffic on New Year’s Eve, Eric Sinkula wryly noted: “Where else would I go?”
