Providence cathedral holds final service

Painful day in Providence, Rhode Island: the city’s Cathedral of St. John saw its final service for the time-being on Sunday and will soon be shuttered.

From The Providence Journal:

The Rt. Rev. David B. Joslin, its acting dean, said the building needs millions of dollars of repairs. An exact amount, he said, was “too scary” to articulate.

“The hope is, as time goes on, a way will emerge,” Joslin said afterwards.
