To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the abolition of chattel slavery in Maryland, members of the Diocese of Maryland went on a pilgrimage yesterday for a day of repentance and reconciliation. Along with Presiding Bishop Katherine Jefferts Schori, Bishop Eugene Sutton, Bishop Suffragan Heather Cook, and Bishop Mariann Budde took part in remembering the impact of slavery past and present.
