Earlier this week, we published a story in The Lead about the return of the founding director of the Barnabas Fund, Dr Patrick Sookhdeo. The Barnabas Fund is a charity in the UK. Dr Sookhdeo has been convicted and punished by a UK court for a sexual assault and intimidating of witnesses. We based our story on an article written in Christian Today, a UK based Christian Media Corporation.
The Board of Trustees for Barnabas Aid International has released a statement regarding the return of Dr Sookhdeo. The Trustees claim that Christian Today wrote their story without input from the Barnabas Fund or from Barnabas Aid International. In the statement, the trustees also make their argument for why they don’t believe that Dr Sookhdeo is actually guilty of the charges for which he was convicted.
