Walking to church on any given Sunday organ music floats through the air. The windows of the church open; the organist practicing for the day.
It’s as if I can hear God’s voice singing through the beautiful notes.
On beautiful spring days with the windows open, I approach my house and can hear the laughter of my daughter. Her joy tangible. Her laughter contagious.
It’s as if I can hear God’s voice singing through the laughter.
From inside my house on a sunny afternoon, I can hear the squeals and delight of children at the park. The hope of youth.
It’s as if I can hear God’s voice singing through the children’s playing.
In gathering week after week at church I hear the voices and greetings of friends and neighbors. The refrain of peace be with you echoes through the church.
It’s as if I can hear God’s voice singing through the sharing of the peace.
Around kitchen tables and the breaking of bread families join in simple prayers, “Come Lord Jesus, be our guest. Bless what God has given us.”
It’s as if I can hear God’s voice singing through the prayers of families.
From the front porch birds chirp and dogs bark. The wind rustles the leaves of trees.
It’s as if I can hear God’s voice singing through creation.
God’s voice comes to us each and every day. Sometimes in grand notes and sometimes in the subtle whispers of children. It’s a voice of love and hope and peace. A voice that brings forth creation in all it’s beauty. A voice that claims us as God’s own. A voice that calls forth justice and peace for all. A voice that never ceases singing.

Can you hear it?
God’s voice is calling for you.
