After Hurricane Nate came through, among the debris were hundreds of pumpkins, deposited neatly on the beach. The photo op was so perfect that many people called it a hoax. However, it’s true. The pumpkins were pulled from the garden at Trinity Church, Pass Christian, MS. The church holds an annual fundraiser by selling the pumpkins, but those stolen by the hurricane are too battered for carving. They are nonetheless free for the taking for animal fodder, according to Fred Tagge of Trinity Church. The church will be receiving a truckload of replacement pumpkins, so that the fundraiser can go forward. And thus, the mystery of Hurricane Nate’s pumpkins was resolved.
