The night has come
The night we waited for
The night we prayed for
The night we hoped would come
The night we knew would bring us joy.
Some say it’s a silent night
Where all is calm and all is bright
Where angels sing
Where children smile
Where hearts are full.
Christ is born for us
The precious babe
The one to save us.
The night has come and a new day dawning
Today this Christmas day we savor that birth
The child that was born for us
But it’s not quiet
It never was.
The sounds of birth
The tears of joy
The wellspring of friends and family
The shouts of thanksgiving.
Today is Christmas Day!
Let us shout for joy
Proclaim the birth of our savior
Welcome the newborn king!
Wherever we are and however we feel
Christ is born for us!
Whether we believe or doubt
Christ is born for us!
Whether we’re joyful or full of sorrow
Christ is born for us!
Today is Christmas Day!
