Our Daily Prayers

Dear friend,

I don’t know about you, but sometimes it’s hard to find the words to pray. Sometimes, it’s only  silence and sighs that I can offer. Other times, I can’t stop the words from flowing. For today, I give you prayers that have nourished me. They are prayers I’ve offered for myself and for others. They are prayers I hope speak to you.

Take one and repeat it over during this day. Or read through them all. Squeeze in a prayer in the pick up line for your children, or between meetings on Zoom. Say them together as a family.

Wherever you are, however you feel, trust that your prayers are heard and that God is with you.

Peace,

Your friend

Dear God,

Today’s a new day. Full of possibility. Help me to see the colors of your creation and to give thanks. The world is our canvas, let us bring joy wherever we go today.

Amen.

Thank you for today, God.

Even though there’s much uncertainty,

I’m certain of your love and light.

And the joy found in being with your people.

Keep my eyes open for the light breaking through.

Keep my light shining.

Amen.

Dear God,

I’m delighting in this season about to turn;

waiting for the coolness and the changing of colors;

all signs of God’s goodness.

Help me, Lord, to be open to your beauty,

and to trust that there’s always more to come.

Amen.

Dear God,

Keep my eyes open to the stories I’m living.

May they inspire me and wrap me in their presence,

holding me tight,

so I can live and breathe them,

and send them into the world to bless others.

Amen.
