Dear God,
Thank you for another day
in my rising
help me to see you
in my waking
help me to feel you
in my movement
help me to trust you.
Fill my day with love
greetings from friends
moments to breathe deeply
nourishing food
meaningful conversation.
Today is another day,
but nothing is ever ordinary with you –
your mercy shines in the beauty of a sunset,
the ripening of a fresh tomato, the splash of ocean water
your heartbeat can be heard in children’s laughter,
the ripple of waves, the birds’ song, the toll of a bell.
Today, may I be open to what lies ahead –
your presence with me
blessing me
showering me with mercy
redeeming and renewing me
today and always.
