A Prayer for July

Dear Lord,

A new month begins full of hope and promise, fireflies and campfires, sunsets and sprinklers.

Half the year has passed and what a year – full of uncertainty, the unexpected sickness, health, worry unrest, injustice, the inability to listen.

Yet, here we are wanting to be present to do more to listen more to feel more deeply the plight of your people.

We enter this new month hopeful for your presence making all things new, renewing spirits and hope, watching dreams take flight.

Breathe your spirit into our homes, communities, and world.

Breathe your love into tired souls and restless spirits.

Breathe your grace into each moment of our days.

Help us to do better, love more fiercely, listen more deeply, and open our hearts to your Word.

Amen.
