A Day of Rememberance: Gaza

From Rector Michael Sniffen of The Church of St. Luke and St. Matthew in the Diocese of Long Island:

Today at 3PM Christians, Muslims, Jews and people of no faith tradition will meet at the Barclay Center to make placards for Gaza and take photographs for the Freedom4Palestine Project. Participants will then undertake a silent march to The Church of St. Luke and St. Matthew where a memorial service will take place to honor the many innocents killed in Gaza in recent weeks.

The service will give voice to the lament of Palestinians and friends around the world who continue to stand in horror at the inhumane brutality inflicted upon the people of Gaza by the Israeli government. The service will include prayer, messages from Palestinians in exile, greetings from Interfaith leaders and activists, a family-friendly art project and time for silence. Following the memorial, all are welcome to stay for a meal and opportunities to connect with others around issues of justice and peace for Gaza and our own communities.
