Archbishop of Canterbury appoints prior for monastic community

The arcbishop of Canterbury has appointed a Swedish Anglican priest, the Rev. Anders Litzell, to be the prior for the new ecumenical monastic community at Lambeth Palace. Ordained in 2012, with roots in the Swedish Pentecostal church, the Rev Litzell is currently pursuing a doctorate on the modern-day relevance of Benedict.

The Revd Anders Litzell said: “I am hugely excited about taking on this role and, through God’s grace, turning Archbishop Justin’s vision for the community into reality. We pray that the Community will be identified by prayer, by learning, by love of each other and of the poor – all with one intention above all others: to become more like Jesus.”
