The Revd Taylor was chosen as bishop coadjutor today at Dio Los Angeles’ diocesan convention on the 8th ballot. The convention is being held in the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario CA.
Hundreds of Central New Yorkers and bishops and dignitaries from across the United States participated in the Ordination & Consecration of the Right Reverend DeDe Duncan-Probe, Ph.D., as 11th Bishop of Central New York. The service took place on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Liverpool, New York.
The Roman Catholic Church exists in two forms in China, the government sanctioned and tightly controlled Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association and an underground church. The Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association is controlled by the Chinese Communist party and is not currently recognized by the Vatican. The underground church owes its allegiance only to the Pope.

According to the diocese, the slate of 7 are only potential nominees until the first ballot is voted, placing the 7 as official nominees. Those ballots will be voted during the diocese’s 113th Diocesan Council which is slated for Corpus Christi TX on 17 FEB 2017.

Friday a week ago, 18 NOV, what is thought to be the largest Zumbathon in a church and perhaps the first in a Cathedral, was held in Chester Cathedral in Chester UK. Over 500 people attended a two-hour Zumba class to raise funds for BBC Children in Need programs. Each attendee paid £10, all of which was donated to the charity.
They have done it before and now they are doing it again. Under the specter of US president-elect Donald Trump’s threats to deport millions of immigrants, both documented and undocumented, churches again are rising up and declaring that they are a place of sanctuary for those fleeing the clutches of the US Department of Homeland Security. Now, as many as 400 US churches and synagogues, across the breadth and height of the nation, are declaring that immigrants may seek refuge in their buildings.
The Douglas County School District, in a suburb of Denver, has teamed up with Samaritan’s Purse to request that the children and their families in the district put together Christmas gift boxes. However, three families in the district feel that things have been taken too far and with the aid of the American Humanist Association have taken the school district to federal court. The families have sued the district on the grounds that the district has violated its responsibility of not promoting religion.
