Senior gay cleric Jeffrey John shortlisted to be bishop

Jeffrey John, dean of St Albans Cathedral, has been shortlisted as one of four possible candidates to be bishop of Brechin, in the Scottish Anglican church. Another gay cleric, Chris Newlands, vicar at Lancaster Priory, is also listed as a candidate to be bishop of St Andrews, Dunkeld & Dunblane.

The North Carolina charges against White pertain to two alleged victims — one male and one female: first-degree forcible sex offense, two counts of indecent liberties with a child, first-degree forcible rape, four counts second-degree forcible sex offense, and second-degree forcible rape. White is currently serving a sentence in Massachusetts for child sex abuse.

Legal saga in Fort Worth continues: Iker’s ACNA diocese to appeal

The trial court initially ruled in favor of the Episcopal Church. On appeal, the state Supreme Court remanded the case to the trial court which then ruled in favor of Iker’s group. On Friday the Appeals Court remanded to the trial court. Iker’s group, in this press release, has announced it will appeal the Appeals Court decision to the state Supreme Court.
