Blessing of the Boats and the Bay in Longport, NJ

Church of the Redeemer in Longport, New Jersey held its second annual “Blessing of the Boats and the Bay” yesterday. Approximately 24 boats showed up, including the fire boat and a rescue patrol boat. Reverend Canon Bill Lewellis presided over the service. Church of the Redeemer is a “multi-denominational parish that follows an Episcopal liturgy but is home to Catholic, Lutheran, Episcopal and even Jewish services.” The Press of Atlantic City has a delightful series of pictures here.
