Prayer, thanksgiving and wonder nourish the little lamp that I bring to the wedding banquet. I would like to keep that oil near to hand.

One thing I think this psalm is saying is that I should be careful about what fears I give life to. There is so much to be afraid of in life that it can seem overwhelming at times.

So, what kind of a mother was Mary? How did she mother? And what can we learn from her, to draw closer to her Son?

Finding the space to be quiet is a gift to ourselves and to God. Listen deeply maybe you to will hear.

It’s really about our counterfeit lives, the ways we choose violence over love, our unrealistic expectations. We can let those things fall to the floor. It’s safe to let them be burned. What remains is the full human you were created to be.

What if we dared to believe enough in our savior that we could welcome the helpless of today into our midst? What if we dared to believe in the radical grace we receive from God enough to embody a glimmer of that grace into the world?

Perhaps in this mysterious Cosmos that belongs to God we are all siblings. Perhaps there is no one in the entire Universe that we have to fear except those who limit themselves by their own fearful outlook.

Don’t be swept up in the traumatic events of the day. Live an examined life; get a grip on your purpose; compare it to your practice; correct your ways; comply with those of the Lord.
