The Bishop of Liverpool responds to a statement out of Nigeria

Recently, the Rt Revd Susan Goff, Bishop Suffragan of the TEC Diocese of Virginia, was asked to serve as an honorary assistant bishop in the CoE Diocese of Liverpool. Subsequently, word has come out of Africa that because of this appointment, the bishop of the Diocese of Akure in Nigeria, which also has had a link relationship with the Dio Liverpool, had taken the decision to end that relationship. The Rt Revd Paul Bayes, bishop of Liverpool, has written a letter responding to the news and has published it on the diocesan website.

3 JUN commemorated the Martyrdom of Christians in Uganda

Yesterday, Friday 3 JUN, marked the 140th anniversary of the order by King Kabaka Mwanga of Buganda that those who had converted to Christianity were to be executed. The Episcopal News Service reports that more than 200,00 pilgrims were camping near the Anglican shrine near Namugango Unganda, with more travelers on the way.
