Charleston SC churches to ring bells Sunday morning

Many of the churches in Charleston SC are planning to ring their bells simultaneously at 10:00 am EDST tomorrow, Sunday, 21 JUN. The event is planned as a show of unity with the congregation of Emanuel AME Church after the tragic, fatal attack that occurred there this past Wednesday evening.

This information was released by the Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and reported in the local newspaper, the Post & Courier.

Another group in Charleston has picked up the event and has called on churches across the US to join with the bell ringing as a further show of unity. Explore Charleston issued a tweet stating, “Today, we call upon our collective strength to make this a day of unity and compassion in Charleston. #CharlestonStrong #PrayforCharleston.” Afterward, the group also posted it’s call on it’s Instagram account.

The time zone breakdown for churches and others across continental North America wishing to join the ring of solidarity would be;
10:00 am EDST
9:00 am CDST
8:00 am MDST
7:00 am PDST
