We reported on the second all African Bishop’s Conference back in January. Now the details of the conference have been published by a Ugandan newspaper. From the report the conference will be held third week of August at a resort in Entebbe Uganda.
“Organised by the Council of Anglican Provinces of Africa, the conference will provide the bishops a forum to discuss issues like war, poverty, poor leadership, diseases and corruption.
President Yoweri Museveni will open the conference, which and the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams is expected to attend.
According to Amanda Onapito, the Church of Uganda director, the theme of the conference is ‘Securing our future: unlocking our potential (Hebrews 12:1-2).’
Sub-themes will include securing an economic future, nurturing family life, building healthy populations, and creating harmonious and dignified communities. “
