The Episcopal Health Foundation has published its 2017 Annual Report. This year’s report highlights the devastation of Hurricane Harvey and its continuing impact on health in Texas. Plus, the annual report breaks down the $33 million given in grants and foundation’s impact on local congregations in Texas.
Though the EHF has made enormous strides, its annual report notes that “Texas still ranks worst in the US for ‘access and affordability of care.’” Particular concern is raised about mounting health concerns in the rural parts of the state.
According to their website,
“EHF was established through the 2013 transfer of the St. Luke’s Episcopal Health System by the Episcopal Diocese of Texas to Catholic Health Initiatives. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that operates as a supporting organization of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas pursuant to Section 509(a)(3)(B)(i) of the Internal Revenue Code.”
“The mission of the Episcopal Health Foundation is to advance the Kingdom of God with specific focus on human health and well-being through grants, research, and initiatives in support of the work of the Diocese.”
