Diana Butler Bass has started a lively conversation at her Facebook page about Equal Pay in the church. Butler Bass writes:
Today is Equal Pay Day! Imagine my shock when, about two years ago, a well-known church tried to pressure me to come for less than half of my regular fee, and I found out that a few months earlier they’d hosted a male colleague (with whom I frequently work) and paid him three times as much as they offered me. When I told the pastor that this wasn’t fair, he blamed me for charging too much. #equalpayforequalwork in the church, too!
