This is my last day of editing a weekly page of The Lead. I feel it is time to turn the work over to new members of the team. It has been a joy and learning experience to participate in spreading the good news of the progressive Episcopal Church. Jim Naughton asked me to join the project in its earliest days and from him I learned much about editing and sourcing stories. When Jon White took over the reins I readily agreed to continue doing weekly stories for The Lead. Now that the new team is in place I will continue to sub for members when their days of juggling work or kids, and Episcopal Café gets to be too much. I will continue to edit the Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday Speaking to the Soul, thought that involves very little work due to the quality of those who write the reflections by Linda Ryan, Laurie Gudim, David Sellery, Leslie Scoopmire, Linda McMillan, and Maria Evans.
My primary reason for not being tied to one day a week is letting go of these sorts of commitments to be able to enjoy the grandchildren whenever they visit or we are able to see them at their homes. It is sad to stop doing something I love but good to know the project is in the creative, energetic hands of people who love the Episcopal Church.
Thanks to all who support the Café by reading, sharing and donating.
