Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Berkeley was heavily damaged in a fire last night. KTVU TV filed a report. It begins:
A neighbor was being credited with being the first to report and respond to a two-alarm fire that broke out at a church in Berkeley on Saturday night. ….
Neighbor Steve Haflich said he saw the flames, and was the first to grab a garden hose to try to fight the fire.
“I was dozing off and I saw some funny glow, and twinkling lights. I thought there might be lights next door. I looked out the window, and it looked like fire,” said Haflich.
