Here is what I notice…
my body feels tight,
fists clenched,
breathing shallow,
mind racing
go, go, go
do, do, do
look here
sign up for this
check all these boxes
clean the dishes
watch out for blocks and race cars.
Here is what I notice…
the quiet start to the day
a glimmer of light
resting in God’s word
calling me to be still
the laughter of my children
my son’s voice, “Hey mama”
my daughter’s embrace
a friend’s kind word
a stranger’s encouragement
homemade bread slathered with butter.
Here is what I notice…
a stop sign
the turn of my head
to witness God’s blazing glory.
Here is what I notice – God is here, everywhere.
