According to Religion Dispatches faith groups are preparing to advocate with the House of Representatives for the immigration reform bill recently passed by the Senate:
Religious groups – another big constituency in the immigration debate— are ramping up efforts in the House on reform this week.
Four organizations are blanketing House members with letters pressing members to move on comprehensive reform, as the focus turns in earnest to that chamber for Congress’s next steps on immigration.

Much of the House Republican Conference has shown resistance to the type of comprehensive overhaul that the Senate passed with big margins last month. But proponents on-and-off the Hill are hoping that influential outside backers of immigration reform that are typically Republican constituencies can play a critical role in swaying GOP lawmakers to take action.
The Episcopal Church is also supporting the legislation.
