St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, K Street
James Kiefer, an amateur Church biographer who worked as a mathematician, passed away on April 18th, 2015.
His biographies are collected in several places, including a Rowan university site curated by Darren Provine, and on the website of The Society of Archbishop Justus.
Provine shared Kiefer’s obituary with the Practical Christian Life listserv.
From his email:
James worked at NIH as a mathematician for about 40 years until 2008. In later years he was at his desk nearly daily although officially retired. In June 2008 he was seriously injured in a fall and has needed assisted living ever since. He was moved from Bethesda to Scottsdale AZ for care near his sister, Beth. He lived in a wonderful home with a competent, caring, Christian family. On April 18, 2015 after a short illness James passed away with two of his sisters, Beth and Margaret, at his side. Now he rests with the Lord, at peace.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, June 6, at 5 PM in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 2430 K Street NW, Washington DC. This was James’s beloved church home while he lived in the DC area.
