The Church of England has set up website listing Advent and Christmas events at the Church’s 16,000 places of worship.

The Telegraph reports that the site is designed for people who rarely go to church but are looking for a place to sing Christmas carols, hear the Christmas story, and perhaps recall the traditions of their youth.

The site says:

Churches all over the country are putting on carol services, Christingles and other special Christmas services this month. This site aims to help you find your nearest service quickly and easily. Just type in your town or postcode to find details of services in churches near you.

Wishing you a very happy Christmas!

Included on the site is this Christmas message from comedian Jo Brand:

“As usual, I am looking forward to Christmas this year and going to a church service. I’m not really a churchy person although I do think Jesus was a good bloke. The singing of carols and Christmas churches decorated with nativity scenes and holly are a great attraction for families at Christmas time, particularly for me, because they remind me of my childhood in a small Kent village when it always seemed to be snowing at Christmas.”
