It’s Lent, and for some of us, that means Lent Madness. This annual event is in its (theologically appropriate) seventh year pitching 32 saints against each other between “Ash Thursday” and Easter, a project shepherded by the Reverends Tim Schenck (its founder) and Scott Gunn. It features celebrity bloggers, weekly videos, a scorecard, bios and vocabulary lists.
Which saints ends up with the Golden Halo? The voting narrows down 32 saints to one (see the bracket below), and the first pair are: Stephen, the church’s first martyr, and Alban, Britain’s first.

We can assure you this will be a wild, joyful, educational, occasionally gut-wrenching ride. We’re delighted to share this journey with you. Let the Madness begin!
