Local Meatheads donate time and ability to a good cause

IMG_1686-200x300They stress that their employees are well mannered, clean cut and strong. An image that folks trust. When they aren’t carrying your property to their trucks the movers are jogging back inside. Meathead Movers was started by Aaron & Evan Steed in 1997. Their company has grown to become one of the most respected local moving companies in California.

They have recently teamed up with a California non-profit that works in domestic violence-prevention, Good Shepherd. Domestic violence situations are complicated. Victims often fall into patterns that make escaping the violence difficult. Often they feel that they are trapped with no where to go and no means to physically leave. They often don’t have the ability to pack up their life, their belongings, and move it to a different location. It can be a daunting task for a woman and her kids to pack and move in the ofttimes very brief window of time before the abuser returns home.

The Steeds realized that they had a valuable resource that could help; strong, athletic men who believe that real men don’t hit women and that real men help others. Meathead Movers are offering to move someone in a domestic violence situation for free. Working with Good Shepherd, someone in a domestic violence situation can apply for Meathead Movers to help them escape to a better living arrangement, whether moving in with relatives, into a shelter or to an apartment or house.
