Lord of LIght, Come

Lord of Light, Come.

Burst into this heart.

Burst into this community.

Burst into this world.

Lord of Light, Come.

Open my eyes to the beauty surrounding me.

Open my eyes to the smiles of a stranger.

Open my eyes to the love of friends found in shared meals and hearty laughs.

Lord of Light, Come.

Open my ears to the cadence of birds chirping.

Open my ears to the melody of a symphony.

Open my ears to the babbling of a baby.

Lord of Light, Come.

Open my hands to embrace the lonely.

Open my hands to bring food to a neighbor.

Open my hands to receive words of forgiveness.

Lord of Light, Come.

Open my mouth to receive the bread and wine.

Open my mouth to taste the goodness of fresh bread.

Open my mouth to offer words of peace and grace.

Lord of Light, Come.

I am ready.

And waiting.

And eager.

I am ready.

To know you.

To feel your presence.

To be blinded by the light.

Your light that overcomes the darkness.

Your light that outshines any doubts.

Your light that surrounds me.

Your light that first brought forth creation.

That spanned the ages.

That crosses time and space.

Your light that knows me inside and out.

And loves me.

Lord of Light, Come.

And shine in me.

Amen.
