Now accepting applications

imageLast SEP I wrote about the new community sponsored by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Community of St Anselm. The members of the community are now going on three and a half months of life together in prayer for the Anglican Communion and the world and studying theology and ethics, plus working in projects directed at ministering to the poor. Those called to community are spending a year together, 16 living at Lambeth Palace and an additional 20 who live and work in the Greater London environs.

The Prior of the Community, the Revd Anderson Litzell, has announced that he is now accepting applications for the second year of community members. The community is limited to young adults between the ages of 20 and 35. The age restriction is in keeping with the ABC’s goal of introducing a life centered in prayer and spiritual formation to a new generation.

By gathering folks from around the world who haven’t previously known one another, it’s hoped that their common age will ease their comfort with living in community. Applicants are welcome from any Christian denomination from any nation. To learn more about the Community of St Anselm and to find the application for the second year, visit the community’s website.
