From The Episcopal Church Office of Public Affairs:
[September 29, 2016] Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop and Primate Michael B. Curry has issued the following statement on the passing of Shimon Peres.
We in the Episcopal Church join with our brothers and sisters throughout the world in mourning the passing of Shimon Peres. He will long be remembered as a leader of Israel, a citizen of the world, and as one who shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Yasser Arafat, Yitzhak Rabin, as a man of peace. For that noble work the words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount seem appropriate:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
The Most Rev. Michael B. Curry
Presiding Bishop and Primate
The Episcopal Church
