Received from the Diocese of Fort Worth via email:
The Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, the Standing Committee, and the people of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth stand in prayer and solidarity with the Episcopalians of the Diocese of South Carolina as they move through a time of challenge and confusion. We applaud the Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori for her pastoral letter reaching out to them.
“We know all too well the pain of schism and the heartbreak of fractured relationships. But we also have experienced God’s amazing grace and in that hope we await reunion and reconciliation with our own sisters and brothers in Christ from whom we are now separated,” Bishop High said.“It is with that same hope that we, along with the presiding bishop, pray that the laity, clergy and bishop of South Carolina find ways to stay together in The Episcopal Church, honoring one another’s differences with love and respect, while worshiping Jesus Christ our Savior. Scripture tells us that “nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39) Let us take that to heart and strive not to let anything separate us one from the other.”
Signed,
Rayford B. High
