The Standing Committee—comprising elected members of the Anglican Consultative Council, the Primates’ Standing Committee and the Archbishop of Canterbury—is holding its three-day annual meeting in London, England. It started Wednesday and will end today.
The Anglican Communion News Service released summaries of Day One, Day Two, and now (3:59 pm) Day Three.
The news release says the agenda is light because this is a year when the Anglican Consultative Council is meeting.
The Presiding Bishop and Bishop Ian Douglas of Connecticut are both on the Standing Committee.
If its seems strange that there has been no response from the Church of England on the covenant even though it has been voted down by the diocese, that’s because it is. Apparently that there has been no official response to Anglican Communion office from the Church of England that the Covenant did not pass.
Members of the Standing Committee are:
Abp Rowan Williams (President)
Bp James Tengatenga (Chair)
Canon Elizabeth Paver (Vice-Chair)
Abp Paul Kwong
