Sunday Not-As-Social-As-Usual Hour

Not sure what’s causing the glitch, but our Café notes stopped posting on Wednesday to both Twitter and Facebook. The problem appears to be with the backend we use to pipe things to Twitterfeed and Facebook, so we’ll be beating that with a virtual hammer until it cooperates again. The end result is that it’s been relatively quiet this week–but not totally so.

Prior to the glitch, however, a huge ruckus erupted over “A religious reflection on Maine,” with our resident conservative commenters stoking most of it. But the comments from other Cafe readers include touching personal testimony and very incisive observations. You can read the Facebook thread here–just take a deep breath before diving in.

With any luck, we’ll be back on the social network air before too much longer. In the meantime, if there’s something you want to share on the social hour, be sure to tag it on Twitter with #ecafe or post it to the Facebook page wall. As an example, on Facebook, Melissa Bailes gave us an update on the Halloween bible burning in Canton, NC, the following day:

By the way, for those of you who heard there was going to be a Bible burning in Canton NC last night, it was rained out and the “preacher” and his 6 members of the congregation left by the back door. Just thought I’d pass that on from WLOS news.
