We are getting deeper and deeper into the age that was spoken of by Timothy when people will love themselves more than God, when the pleasure and comfort will determine many things and so we are in the end time and in this end time there are boundless opportunities of evil, but the joy of it all is that evil will not win in the end.
Delegates from throughout Africa and from all other regions of the world opened the first consultative conference for the Anglican Alliance in Nairobi yesterday (Monday 11 April)
Bosco Peters writes on his blog Liturgy about the proposal to institute lay presidency of the eucharist in the Diocese of Sydney of the Anglican Church in Australia.

CANA is going on well, within the obvious limits of funds, facilities and manpower. At the appropriate time issues of additional manpower and the whole range of issues about finance vis-à-vis the desire for additional grouping (emerging “dioceses”) will be discussed. We repeat our appeal to our Lord Bishops to apply restraint in granting preferment to clergy abroad, especially in the USA as it has really made the clergymen there quite unruly. We also repeat the appeal for Bishops to respect CANA as a jurisdiction.
The Church of Norway has established the office of Presiding Bishop, and the first person to hold that position is a woman. She is Bishop Helga Haugland Byfuglien.
Her appointment means that for the first time, the Porvoo Communion will have a primate who is a woman. Meanwhile another member of the Porvoo Communion, the Church of England, has not decided whether women may be bishops.
Now, above all, what we really would like the church across the world to do is support us by praying. The Japanese Church is a small church, but knowing that brothers and sisters in the worldwide Communion are praying for victims and the church’s relief activities, that gives them strength. I would also be very grateful if they would support us financially now and in the future so that we can help restore people’s lives and our church communities.
