Betraying Jesus
“My betrayals are small, but they are endless, part of the fabric of my everyday life.”

“My betrayals are small, but they are endless, part of the fabric of my everyday life.”

we are nearing the end of the first fifth of the twenty-first century. And I think we can all admit we have hard choices to make too. Sometimes as we face those choices, we are akin to Judas.

Faithfulness and betrayal go hand in hand. If we claim any kinship with Peter, we have to claim a kinship with Judas too.

The sad reality is that to be human, we will be betrayed–and sometimes we will be the betrayer. When we have been betrayed, we want to hold onto every bit of that hurt, for a lot longer than is good for us.

We all have flaws, weaknesses and blindnesses that are uniquely ours. Spiritual growth involves getting to know and love them as integral parts of us.
