Members of Parliament for constituencies served by the Diocese of Llandaff have responded to allegations that the Very Reverend Jeffrey John was excluded from consideration
After a week of closed meetings at St Davids Cathedral, the Archbishop of Wales, Dr Barry Morgan announced that the Electoral College had chosen Canon Joanna Penberthy as the 129th Bishop of St Davids. Canon Penberthy was one of the first women to be ordained as a priest in Wales in 1997 and is currently Rector of Glan Ithon, in the Diocese of Swansea and Brecon in Llandrindod Wells.
“I shall hang my plaque up with pride. It will remind me every time I see it how the things we take for granted in this country, such as decent sanitation and hygiene, can make the difference between life and death, health and disease, to the world’s poorest people.”
