I wonder, where is home? Each of us has an answer, and the answers are as varied as the people being asked the question. But thinking theologically for a moment, is being part of a church like being at home?

…the process of the intentional examination of my thoughts, reading the actual text, and stripping away the accumulated notions of years opened me up to a new way of thinking about a particular text and shook me into a whole new experience.

Ministry is what we do when we go out into the world just as much as we do more within the walls of the church.

What if we could see whitewater as an opportunity? We can learn from turbulence, even if the experience itself is far from pleasant. We can learn that overwhelmed doesn’t necessarily mean overcome.

Education for Ministry (EfM) from the School of Theology of the University of the South in Sewanee TN celebrated its 40th anniversary July 29 at General Convention. One of the most successful and long lasting educational programs, EfM has had more than 81,000 participants with nearly 38,000 graduates of all 4 years.
