The Roman prelates of the Caribbean island nation began immediately to protest his appointment because Ambassador Brewster is gay and married to Robert Satawake. Two years on and the attack on the ambassador has been relentless. It seems that Cardinal Nicolás de Jesús López Rodríguez has made it his personal mission to lead the charge.
