Apparently we’re bothering someone. We’re not sure who, but someone (or some-ones) has been directing a denial-of-service attack on this website, slowing it down considerably and making it impossible to load for many. We have been frustrated by our inability to access the site as I know many of our readers have as well. I suppose there’s some consolation in knowing that we’re worth the time and effort it took to try and shut us up, but we’d still prefer it if the site worked for everyone all the time.
As most of our readers know, the Café is an all-volunteer effort; no one gets paid for the hours they spend putting it all together. I can’t thank them enough for their support and perseverance while we’ve been dealing with this problem. We have enlisted professional IT help, though, to rescue our site and get things back on track. Like the servers, the domain, the spam blocker, the plugins, the professional services, and all the other things that go into making our web presence possible, the IT services cost money.
We do not receive any support from the Episcopal Church or any individual dioceses or other church bodies. So I’m here to ask again for your donations. You can donate online (or by mail if you prefer) and your donation is tax-deductible. We want to make sure that our voice from the perspective of an inclusive and progressive Christian perspective isn’t silenced. We’d also like to continue to improve and expand our ability to offer that perspective to a wider audience.
You can donate online by clicking on the yellow DONATE button to the right or by mailing your donation to:
